About PingPongTableGuide
PingPongTableGuide is an independent review site. Played competitive table tennis in the Czech Republic as a teenager, immigrated at 20, and now runs a community club in a converted warehouse with 6 tables. Has set up, leveled, and repaired more tables than he can count, including the cheap foldables that warp and the tournament-grade ones his club bought used. He measures table thickness, bounce height with a dropped ball, and frame squareness with a carpenter's square.
Who's Behind This
Petr, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has been testing table tennis tables for years. Every review on this site comes from hands-on time with the actual product — not spec sheets.
How We Test
- ✅ No sponsored reviews. We never accept payment for placements.
- ✅ Honest comparisons. If a product isn't good, we'll tell you.
- ✅ Transparent methodology. We explain exactly how we test and rate.
- ✅ Affiliate disclosure. Some links earn us a commission at no cost to you.
What We Believe
- The table is 10% of your game and 90% of your headaches. A warped 16mm table ruins practice more than a bad paddle.
- Bounce consistency is the only spec that matters. I test it with a ball dropped from 30cm at 9 points on the table.
- Thickness is not quality. A thick table with a hollow core bounces worse than a thin one with a solid core.
- Folding mechanisms are where tables die. I've fixed 40 of them.
